In society there is much pressure on mothers that they should ‘bounce back’ so quickly after childbirth. We forget that there are many area’s of our bodies physically that need to heal after birth, not to mention the emotional and physiological changes we need to adjust to.
While the Covid-19 pandemic is causing obvious disruption to our normal way of life, the less visible impact is the strain on people’s mental health, especially for pregnant women and new parents.
There’s obviously only one topic on most expectant parents (or anyone else for that matter) minds right now. So, in between delivering babies, we’ve compiled a two-part blog series.

I’ve seen my fair share of births. A few of my own, hundreds of other peoples and I’ve seen almost every scenario that you could ever imagine. But, one scenario I certainly wasn’t familiar with, was creating and “giving birth” to an online business.
This is a blog post I’ve had written for months but I am always conscious on voicing my opinions on controversial topics like this. I’m aware that my opinion on newborn sleep isn’t for everyone.. but from my research as a midwife and then having my own babies, it’s a topic I’ve become passionate about. In the hopes that it perhaps just gives one mum hope to know that what they are doing is more than ok, it’s worth voicing.
Ah, the great breastfeeding / formula topic…it’s one most parents know to avoid. A topic that’s been known to provoke high emotion, heated conversation and ultimately a fair bit of guilt placed on each other. While it isn’t always on purpose, it does feel a little unnecessary.

There are so many things to learn and so many products on the market for your newborn baby. With every influencer, knowledgeable friend and brand telling giving you conflicting advice, it can be really hard to know exactly what you need to prepare for birth.
